A Brief Eulogy of My Father: Born in Jamaica in the County of Middlesex the Parish of Manchester in a Town called Christiana (14 Miles from Manderville)to Miss Delsi Cole & Mr Cornelius Staple. Dad also attended Middlesex School in Christiana. (Out of all my Dad's Children. i was the only Child of his that also Attended his old School)At around 14 years Dad went to Kingston (The Capital) to join his mother who had move from Christiana when he was around 12yrs to find work as a Dress Maker.My Father was very Gifted with his hands that in no time he was working at John Crook Garage as a Car upholsters and making good money that by 18 he was driving a car and also having the kindness of many a Ladies (he had the Status) Dad was fortunate he was well know in his trade and he used to hung out with society folks the likes of Michael Manley in their young days. Because of the circles he move a certain young lady (Leana) caught his eye that change him for the rest of his life.she was only 17yrs and was embarking on a nursing career in England. Dad decided that he did not want to loose her, that he too decided to come to to the UK. His mother (Mrs Delci) already move to the UK in 1958. My father and Leana came over 1960. While in the UK he work in various jobs but most of his years he work for British Rail as a Tracker.I remembered mty dad telling how he cried when he recieved his first wage packet around £6.00?. He was getting around £50 per week in 1957! He retired in 1995 and went to Jamaica to Built a house on our family land. 2003 he came back to The UK for a Holiday it was very sad to see the dad i love in a sorry state could not properly look after himself and lacking confidence he was only 72 (sometimes i wonder what he was going through in Jamaica) in the three weeks that dad stay at my house he was strong active and getting back to his old self but sadly back in Jamaica 2004 he pass away having suffered ill health. Leaving 15 Children and countless Grand and Great Grand Children.. In the Uk Dad mother live at No 4 Cameron Road, Croydon. Sadly passaway at only age 52. 1968 in a coma.Mrs Delsi is burried in Croydon Cemetary Mitcham Road Croydon. Dad was the only Child she had and was very spoilt. Dad lived on limes Road, Croydon from 1963 to 1996. (He was well know in and a round Croydon for his Saturday Night Parties ask any one over 55 they will know) GOODBYE DAD
